Disseminated intravascular coagulation- a disease in the blood

DEFINITIONS Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) is a state where a small blood clot clot-spread throughout the blood stream, causing blockage of small blood vessels and reducing the clotting factors needed to control bleeding.

CAUSE This condition begins with excessive blood clotting, which are usually stimulated by a toxic substance in the blood. Because the amount of clotting factor decreases, the excessive bleeding. People who have the highest risk for suffering from DIC:
Women who had undergone surgery or
childbirth content accompanied by complications, in which uterine tissue into the bloodstream
Patients with severe infections, where bacteria release endotoxins (a substance that causes clotting activation) Certain leukemia patients or patients with gastric cancer, pancreatic and prostate. People who have not too high risk to suffer from DIC:
Patients with severe head injury Men who had undergone prostate surgery Exposed to snake bites
SYMPTOMS DIC usually appear suddenly and can be very heavy. If this situation occurs after surgery or childbirth, then the surface of the incision or tear tissue may develop severe and uncontrolled bleeding. Bleeding can be settled in the area where the injection or puncture; massive haemorrhage can occur in the brain, gastrointestinal tract, skin. Muscle and body cavity.
Blood clots in small blood vessels that can damage the kidneys (sometimes permanent nature) so that no urine is formed.
DIAGNOSIS Blood tests showed: - Decrease the amount of clotting factor - The existence of a small clot clot-unusual
- Solving a large number of blood clots.

TREATMENT The cause must be sought and addressed, whether the disruption of midwifery, infection or cancer. If the cause is addressed, then the clotting disorder can be reduced. DIC can be fatal, so that must be addressed as soon as possible. Platelet transfusions are given to replace the clotting factor and kekurangand's stop the bleeding. To slow freezing sometimes given heparin.
